During the entire month of June, Maasmechelen Village is even more of a foodie heaven. Scattered all over the Village you’ll find numerous pop-ups where you can taste an abundance of Belgian delights. Whether you’re into beers or more into chocolates, or prefer savoury over sweet, we have it all. So drop by and taste as much as you can. Bon appetite!
The delights at every pop-up are so fingerlicking good, you’ll definitely crave for more.
Start your day with a cup you order at one of the two bicycles from Vascobelo Cafe, serving Belgium’s finest coffee. It’s so good that after one sip, you’ll imagine to be on a picturesque Italian square.
Do you have a sweet tooth? Then you’ll definitely enjoy a cuberdon, the renowned cone-shaped sweet with raspberry flavour, brought to you by Léopold and a number of hostesses, dressed in 19th century clothing.
The real beer lover will also find what (s)he’s looking for. Brochus, Belgium’s smallest brewery, sells and provides tastings of their delicious artisanal beers in a small orangerie in front of the Armani boutique. Cheers!
MY BE POP (UP)
So you thought popcorn is only good with salt, sugar or caramel? Well, think again. The ‘gourmet’ popcorn from Brussels-based My Be Pop offers a wide variety of tastes, from vanilla and lemon to pistachio and even sun-dries tomatoes.
Especially for Maasmechelen Village, master pattisier and world famous chocolatier Pierre Marcolini has opened an ice cream stall, where you will not only taste the most delicious ice cream, but also experience his unique gastronomic toppings.
Stéphane Vandeparre’s hand-made artisanal ice cream is on the menus of several Michelin star restaurants. And now you can try it yourself, because he serves his creations here in the Village, at a stall run by Chez Lulu.
MORE FROM WHAT A WAFFLE
What a Waffle, already situated in the Village, also joins the food celebration. As usual, they serve their delicious Liège waffles, but during this whole month, they provide additional toppings to make it even harder to choose ;)
LEONIDAS + STRAWBERRIES
As you know, Leonidas offers the best Belgian chocolate. And this month, you can savour it melted over Belgian strawberries while you enjoy a break on their terrace. Trust us, it’s choc-ingly delicious!
If you say Neuhaus, you say more than 150 years of tradition of and expertise on the finest pralines. This month, Neuhaus expands its store with a terrace and expands its range with ice creams. Enjoy!
